Visiting US & Non-EU Students: Immigration Procedures

What is a Visa?

A visa is a document permitting travel to enter a country. Citizens of certain countries require visas. Airport Immigration Officers reserve the right to refuse entry.

Please note:

  • Visiting Students from the US do not require a student visa. They are however, required to register with Immigration in Cork
  • Visiting Students from other Non-EU countries should determine whether they require a visa by visiting the links below

What is Immigration?

Immigration is permission to reside in a country. It is necessary for anybody, who does not hold Irish citizenship, wishing to live in Ireland for more than 90 days, to obtain an Immigration Card.
