Visiting US & Non-EU Students: Checklist

Checklist: Before you arrive

Make sure you have the documents you will need to enter Ireland. US citizens do not need a visa, but, on arrival in Ireland, you MUST show:

• A valid passport
• An official letter of acceptance from UCC
• A letter of financial support from your university.  If your university is not providing this confirmation, then you will need to open an Irish bank account on arrival in UCC

Checklist: After you arrive

We recommend that you go directly to your accommodation. Bear in mind that there are no zip codes, so a typical postal address might look like “Apartment 1C, Farranlea Hall, Victoria Cross, Cork.” This should be more than enough information for a taxi driver to find your new home.

We recommend: 

• You enrol as a student by the relevant deadline
• You complete and submit your module registration form to the International Education Office by the deadline
• You inform the International Education Office of your contact details in Cork
