How does it work?

When is the fee payment deadline?
At present all international students are required to pay a non-refundable deposit when applying for a place at University College Cork. Details of the relevant deposit payable can be obtained from the International Education Office at +353 21 4904733. Students must then pay the balance of their outstanding fees prior to registration.
Students should note that failure to pay their fees may result in a delay in receiving their student identity card and may ultimately result in the student being prevented from receiving their examination details.
Can I pay my fees in instalments?
From the start of the academic year, all international students (undergraduate and postgraduate) will be required to pay their fees in full prior to registration. However, any international student who has written documentation confirming that their fees will be paid by a funding agency will not have to pay the fees upfront.
Any registered student who is unable to pay their fees according to the university payment policy should contact the Fees Office Manager at +353 21 4903255 as soon as possible during the academic year to discuss the possibility of rescheduling their payments.
Do I qualify for EU fees or non-EU fees?
A definition of the eligibility criteria for EU fees status at University College Cork is available on the following link: Applicant's Status - EU or Non-EU
Any student who does not meet the eligibility criteria is categorised as non-EU and retains this status for the duration of their course of study.
Do I qualify for exemptions?
Some students may qualify for exemptions from particular modules in their overall degree, if they have completed a degree or other recognised qualification. Enquiries should be made directly to departments if you think you are eligible for exemption from a particular module. If you are granted an exemption you will be refunded the fee for that particular module.
Please note:
- Tuition fees are subject to annual increases.
- Tuition fees do not include amounts for maintenance.
- The Fees Office email address fees@fin.ucc.ie
Students who require visas:
To secure a place UCC requires payment of a deposit. However, the Irish Government will only issue a student visa to students who have paid fees in full. Please ensure that you have paid and received a receipt so as to avoid visa refusal on the basis of incomplete tuition fee payment. If your visa application is unsuccessful UCC will refund your fees in full.
