Incoming Erasmus Students: Orientation and Registration
Registration as a Student
In order to register as a UCC student you should have the following documentation with you on arrival at the university:
- Your acceptance letter from UCC
- Proof of personal identity (passport or national identity card)

Instructions for online enrolment will be emailed to students in August 2012.
Welcome Programme
A Welcome Programme for all new International Students will take place from the 10th - 21st September 2012. The Welcome Programme will give you the opportunity to meet other new International students along with Irish students in a social environment. The Welcome Programme will be available online in August 2012.
In order to introduce you to life at University College Cork and to help you to settle in, the University runs a series of orientation programmes designed to tell you about life on campus. In addition, incoming visiting students have the opportunity to attend an informal reception, where you can meet other students and academic and administrative staff responsible for your welfare while here.
Autumn Semester/Full Academic Year 2012/2013 Orientation:

Information for Incoming Visiting and Erasmus Students 2012/2013
All questions relating to course selection, timetables, registration etc. will be dealt with at Orientation. Information on modules (courses) available to visiting students can be accessed at Book of Modules for Visiting Students
Please ensure that on arrival at the airport of entry into Ireland you have your admission letter on your person. Visiting students from the United States, Canada, Australia and other Non-EU countries will be required to present this letter to the Immigration authorities at the airport.

Temporary Accommodation
Temporary accommodation is available in a number of youth hostels around the city.
The hostel closest to the UCC campus is An Óige (Irish Youth Hostel Association) 1 Redclyffe, Western Rd,

Examinations & Assessment
Formal examinations are held in the Summer with repeat examinations in the Autumn. Departmental examinations and assessments take place at various times during the year. In the case of visiting students, assessment arrangements will vary case by case. As a general rule, the approach is to integrate the visiting student to the maximum extent possible into the procedures normally observed by the Irish student. Visiting students must sit the normal end of year examinations, as is the case for Irish students. Where this is not possible - for example, in the case of Autumn semester students who have left Cork by examination time - other arrangements are made.
It should be noted that as students are permitted to choose modules across faculties and years there is a possibility of exam timetable conflicts occurring. In the event of such conflicts arising alternative arrangements are made through the International Education Office.
A result will be issued to each student’s home address and home university after the examination grades are made available to the International Education Office.
