Study Abroad for UCC Students: Department of Education and Science

Government Exchange Scholarships

Postgraduate Research/Study Scholarships

Scholarships offered by foreign Governments are subject to annual renewal. These offers are not received in the Department at any set time within the academic cycle but usually arrive between the months of October and March.

Details of all scholarship offers are circulated to universities and other relevant third level institutions of education and are published on the Department of Education and Science website http://www.education.ie/.

Students interested in applying for these scholarships should contact the International Section, Training College Building, Department of Education and Science, Marlborough St., Dublin 1 – Telephone + 353 (01) 889 2426.

Students interested in applying for these scholarships should note the following:

  • Contact the International Section at the start of the academic year and request to be placed on a mailing list for the scholarship offers. Application forms plus relevant details will then be posted to the student when the offers are open to receive applications.
  • Application forms, information notes should be carefully read and neatly completed. All supporting documentation e.g. Curriculum Vitae, References, Exam transcripts and focussed study plan should be returned with the application form to the International Section.
  • All deadline dates set for return of application forms in respect of the various scholarship offers are strictly honoured.
  • As most of these offers do not require interview with the candidate, the application form submitted for a scholarship will be the only means of evaluating the candidates. Therefore candidates should take due care when submitting their completed application for consideration.
  • Applicants should make contact with the university of their choice and enclose an offer of placement from the university when submitting their application for consideration.
