Shen Mengjing has just completed her work placement in Dairygold Cooperative Ltd. in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork as part of her Bachelor of Commerce degree at UCC.
Shen Mengjing has just completed her work placement in Dairygold Cooperative Ltd. in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork as part of her Bachelor of Commerce degree at UCC. Mengjing was very happy there and learned a lot about work and communicating in an office environment during that period.
Mengjing sees UCC as one big international family where the lecturers and tutors are all very kind. They are always happy to answer questions, not only in class but also outside class and give as much help as they can. By making friends with her class mates, Shen has received a lot of help while living and studying here. She sees Ireland as a second home with lots of friends and stories which will never be forgotten.
Mengjing will now move to Australia where she has been offered a place on a Master’s programme in Accounting at Monash University in Melbourne.
Says Menjing: “I got my first job in Ireland, I made my first foreign friend in Ireland, I enjoyed my first real Christmas with an Irish family. Ireland is a place full of memories for me. Irish people are friendly towards foreigners and love to become friends. Try to get involved with Irish friends and you will quickly adapt to this culture”.
