These are all symptoms that someone who is experiencing anxiety may be all too familiar with. I am a postgraduate student on the MSc for Applied Psychology in Trinity College, Dublin. As part of my course I will be carrying out a study on an Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) Online E-Course for people who are experiencing anxiety. ACT is derived from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which is a mindfulness-based behavioural therapy that aims to help you move away from distress so that you can focus your energies on living a more meaningful, values-led life.

Due to the technological advances over the last decade, people now spend more time online for a variety of purposes including therapy and training. To investigate this phenomenon further, I will be running an 8-week ACT E-Course for Anxiety in my study. The ACT E-Course for Anxiety will take on average one hour per week to complete and the results can be long-term. The materials for the E-Course will be sent directly to your email address each week. The materials you will receive will help you to develop the skills involved in ACT such as mindfulness, defusion and acceptance.

If you would like more information and if you would be interested in participating in this study please email Emma at act.ecourse@gmail.com Closing date for applications is February 3rd, 2012.
