Information on Email

Electronic Mail (or "Email") allows UCC staff members to communicate electronically with each other and with the wider community. UCC uses Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange 2010.

An email address usually takes the form someusername@ucc.ie . You will be informed of the exact format of your email address when you are Getting an Email Account.

Fraudulent emails and Phishing scams

On occasion you may receive emails that appear to be from a computer department in UCC concerning your email account. These emails will normally threaten to close your account if you do not forward on your username and email password. These emails are fraudulent. If you receive such an email please contact the Staff IT helpdesk on 021 4902120. The Helpdesk is open from 8:30 am – 6pm Monday to Friday.
