Welcome to the PhD Forum Page for the Discipline of Sociology in
the school of Sociology and Philosophy, University College Cork. Our
forum gives doctoral candidates an opportunity to present their work in
progress to other doctoral candidates. Our aim is to support one
another's work through encouragement, critique, debate and discussion.
During the college term we meet quite regularly, about every 4 weeks,
and in summer we tend to meet if a number of students request an
opportunity to present their research.
The forum is a useful way to prepare for conferences, to develop
you ideas and expand your interests. But most of all it is a way for the
cohort of doctoral candidates within the Discipline of Sociology to
generate a community spirit and solidarity.
Keep an eye on this page for updates about our next meeting.
regards,
Lorcan ByrneForum Convenor
