eduroam for travelling UCC students

eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) is the secure, world-wide roaming infrastructure used by affiliated research and educational facilities to allow their staff, students and researchers to visit other participating institutions and continue to have wireless connectivity .

Being part of eduroam allows users to access a wireless network at a visited participating institution simply using by using credentials (i.e. username and password) assigned to them by their home institution.

To find out if the institution you are visiting is affiliated with eduroam, go to https://www.eduroam.org/index.php?p=where and navigate the site to find if your destination is listed.

If the institution is listed, it will give you details on how to connect .

Note: You are not required to register for the eduroam service and you need not have registered for the current UCC Student wireless service.

eduroam will require your U.C.C. Student IT Account username and password to access the wireless in the visited institution.

  • username: StudentNum@umail.ucc.ie        N.B. you must add "@umail.ucc.ie" to your student number for your wireless access to work.
  • password: your Student IT Account password

If you have not got a Student IT Account please click here for more information.

If you are having trouble connecting to the visited institutions wireless first check their eduroam webpage to verify the details on how to connect. If that still does not work please email eduroam@ucc.ie
