Microsoft Ultimate Steal Offer

Microsoft has decided to bring the Ultimate Steal offer to Irish students. This offer is currently been run in pilot mode and UCC is one of the universities that has been chosen as a test market.

Microsoft DreamSpark

Microsoft DreamSpark enables students to download Microsoft Developer and Design tools at no charge.  Micromail are providing a portal for students to be able to access DreamSpark, students can access this through http://www.studentsoftware.ie or http://www.micromail.com/dreamspark

This site enables students to download professional-level Microsoft developer and design tools in order to get this software from Microsoft at no charge, students will be asked to verify their student status once every 12 months.  You will need to sign up using your student email account.

Many software companies offer reduced pricing for students. It is always worth contacting the relevant company to see if they offer such a service

Software Piracy

Software Piracy is theft, and is punishable under Irish Law. All students are obliged to accept the UCC Acceptable Usage Policy. Any student found to be engaged in software piracy will have their IT privileges revoked, and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
