DIY Configuration - Automatic and Manual Options
Below you will find the instructions on how to configure your device for the wireless network. Automatic options exist for Windows 7 and Windows Vista, for Mac OS X 10.5 and 10. 6 manual instuctions are provided. Linux users should be able to use the information in the wireless technical specification to configure their devices: Wireless Technical Specification
Automatic Configuration - Windows 7 and Vista
If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 running on your laptop and you want to avoid the queues in the Boole Basement you can use an application to auto-configure your laptop. Simply do the following:

Follow these steps
- Extract the files to a folder (preferably your desktop).
- Double-click on the file called su1x-setup.exe and input your student number and password in the 2 fields contained.
- Click on the "Start setup" button and it will configure your laptop (be patient it can take a minute)
- Call to the student helpdesk with college ID to get your registration enabled.
