Open Access Computers and Printers
In the Student IT Centres you can logon to the Open Access Computers and Printers using your Network Access Account. Once you logon to a PC you will have access to the internet and a range of software including Microsoft Office. You will also be able to use the printing facilities available. Your Network Access Account is needed to logon to the Open Access PCs and to logon to the "print release stations", a print release station is a PC located beside a printer. Please see the Printing FAQ for more information.
Releasing A Print Job
Once you have sent a file to the printer you will need to release it at a print release station
- Go to one of the print release stations in the open access lab (the PC next to the printer)
- At the print release station, log in with your Network Access Account
- You will see your print jobs listed and your print account balance (this will be displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen)
- Ensure that your balance is enough to cover the cost of the print job
- Select all the jobs you would like to print
- Click print
- Your print account balance will be adjusted accordingly
Your print job should now start printing
