Biography
Alessandro is undertaking a PhD on Modelling energy scenarios for Ireland to 2050. He completed a Masters degree in Energy and Nuclear Engineering (Laurea specialistica in Ingegneria Energetica e Nucleare) from “Politecnico di Torino” (Italy) in 2010. In 2007 he was awarded a degree in Energy Engineering (Laurea triennale in Ingegneria Energetica) from “Alma Mater Studiorum – Università degli Studi di Bologna” (Italy). Since May 2009 he’s been involved in the research project “REACCESS (Risk of Energy Availability: Common Corridors for Europe Supply Security)” in DENER (Politecnico di Torino). His work at ERI (UCC) focuses on developing the wind power sector in the research project “Energy Modelling – Irish TIMES” using the TIMES modeling tool. His research work in UCC will form the basis for his Masters thesis.
