PAC Code:CKM22 (part-time) Overview The MComm is a research degree aimed at experienced practitioners working in industry. The degree normally takes 24 months for part-time students. Typically, an MComm student researches a topic that is grounded in his or her work environment. The Department of Management and Marketing focuses on research in: Candidates for the MComm will be required to complete a thesis that will contribute to one of these research areas, engage in reflective research and develop state-of-the-art knowledge in management and marketing thinking. The objective of this programme is to allow managers to step back from the daily pressures of business and take time to think, engage in creative research and network with other managers. We aim to create a stimulating environment for new ideas to evolve. Programme Structure The MComm is a two-year part-time programme. A candidate for the MComm Degree in the Department of Management and Marketing will: Candidates may also be required to attend seminars in the Department and complete relevant essays/projects. Assessment The MComm in Management and Marketing will be assessed by major thesis. Up to 400 marks may be awarded for essays/projects and at least 800 marks may be awarded for the thesis. The MComm is an Honours Degree that will be awarded on the basis of the Examiners' report. Entry Requirements A candidate who has been the holder of a degree or other professional qualification or appropriate relevant experience and has a minimum of three years professional business/administrative experience is eligible to apply for the MComm Degree.
