UCC Funding
The Department of Management and Marketing provides computing and research facilities to all its postgraduate research students. At the moment it is not offering any postgraduate scholarships to new research students.

EXTERNAL FUNDING
Local Authority Grants
If you are over 23 on the first of January prior to your entry to the postgraduate course of your choice, and you have been living away from your parents on the 1st October in the previous tax year, then you may be entitled to a local authority grant, which will pay your fees up to a maximum value of €6,270 per annum (2008/09). Government of Ireland Research Scholarships
The Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences each year offers scholarships for advanced students wishing to pursue a research degree. The research degrees provided by the Department of Management & Marketing are the MSc and the PhD. Information on these awards, including terms and conditions and assessment procedures, may now be downloaded from the website http://www.irchss.ie of the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences. It is important to note that citizens of the European Union (EU) who are ordinarily resident within a member state of the EU are eligible to apply for these awards. The value of the scholarships is up to €12,700 per annum and scholars will not be liable to pay fees. The closing date for applications is usually in January.

ERASMUS MUNDUS II

ERASMUS MUNDUS II supports high-quality European masters and PhD courses, providing high-calibre students and visiting academics from around the world with scholarships to engage in postgraduate study in Europe, as well as encouraging the outgoing mobility of European students and academics towards third countries. Specific projects aiming to raise the profile and appeal of European higher education are also supported.
Department of Education & Science
The Department provides a number of scholarships to students wishing to study in Ireland.
Fáilte Ireland Tourism Research Scholarship 2006.
The Scholarship offers opportunities for postgraduate students from tourism and hospitality-related disciplines, to undertake a Masters by research in a higher education institution. Applications should be submitted on or before Friday, 12th June 2009, and must be in accordance with the Scheme’s terms and conditions. The HRB is the lead agency in Ireland supporting health research. The Research Funding and Policy Division funds health research in other organisations and contributes to the development of research at national level.
The Heinz Fellowship in International Business Strategy. H.J. Heinz Company Foundation established this fellowship within the Department of Management & Marketing, UCC. Valued at €15,000 per annum (including fee), the Fellowship is awarded on the basis of demonstrated potential for excellence in research and the strength of a PhD research proposal. It is offered triennially following advertisement and competition.
Universities Ireland which promotes collaboration between universities in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and the Joint Business Council of the Irish Business Employers Confederation and the Confederation of British Industry, which promotes North-South business co-operation, are offering eight bursaries to students undertaking a recognised Master's course (taught or research) in the other Irish jurisdiction. Higher Education Grants. If eligible, HEA funding is available for one undergraduate and one postgraduate degree. Students should contact their local authorities to establish eligibility for a grant.
Irish Research Council for the Humanities & Social Sciences.
Provides awards for postgraduate research in the historical, analytical and theoretical study of Humanities and Social Sciences, including Law and Business Studies.
Provides awards for postgraduate research in Science, Engineering and Technology with an emphasis on innovation.
O'Reilly Foundation Scholarships
PhD Scholarships, with preference being given to Business Studies, Law, Marketing, Media Studies, Technology and the Arts.
SFI provides grants for researchers from around the world and based in Ireland, for outstanding research visitors, for conferences and symposia, and for collaboration with industry.
University Ireland and Six Individual Companies
Universities Ireland offers scholarships to outstanding young people to undertake postgraduate study in the other part of the island. The deadline for applications is Friday, 15th May, 2009. Further information is available on www.universitiesireland.ie
