Statute LXXVIII.
Irish Universities Act, 1908
University College, Cork
We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under
and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by
the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal
of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in
the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said
College.
Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this twentieth day of June, 1968.

Statute LXXVIII.
Schedule
Statutes I. to LXXVII. of University College, Cork shall be read
and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments
hereinafter set forth.
CHAPTER I.
Lectureship in Law, No. 2
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship
in Law, No. 2.
- The said lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the lectureship shall be the same as that provided in
Statute LXXIII., Chapter I., section 5(a)(i). The provisions of
Statute LXVII., Chapter IV., as amended by Statute LXX.,
Chapter III., section 1, and by Statute LXXIII., Chapter IV.,
section 1, shall also apply to the office.
- The duties of the lecturer shall be to Lecture in Law under
the direction of the Senior Professor of Law for all degrees, diplomas
and certificates of the University and for all diplomas and
certificates of the College. He shall also examine in Law for the
College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for the University.
He shall, in addition, discharge such other duties appropriate to
the office as shall be assigned to him by the said Senior Professor
of Law.
For the purpose of this section whichever of this Professors of
Common Law, Real Property and Equity or of Jurisprudence,
Roman Law and Personal Property was first appointed to his
Professorship, or, if both were appointed on the same day, whichever
is the senior in age, shall be the Senior Professor of Law.
- This said lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table A
of this Additional Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX.
Chapter II., as already amended, is hereby further amended by the
addition of the said office thereto.
- The said lectureship shall be tenable for the same term and
upon the same conditions and the holder thereof shall be subject
to the same duties and obligations as if the lectureship had
been included in Statutes I. to LXXVII. of University College
Cork.
- This statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I.
to LXXVII. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute
LXXVIII. of University College, Cork or Stat. LXXVIII. of Univ.
Coll. Cork.
- This statute shall come into operation on the twentieth
day of June, 1968.
