Statute LXVIII.

Irish Universities Act, 1908

University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this tenth day of December, 1963.

Statute LXVIII.

Schedule

Statutes I. to LXVII. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Lectureship in Biochemistry

  1. There shall be established in the College, in the event of its Institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in Biochemistry.
  2. The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The stipend of the Lecturer shall be the same as those provided for in Statute LXVII., Chapter II, section 4. The provisions of Chapter IV. of that Statute shall also apply to the office.
  3. The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Biochemistry for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the University and for all Diplomas and Certificates of the College, under the direction of the Professor of Biochemistry. He shall in addition examine in Biochemistry for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for the University.
  4. The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table A of the Additional Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXLX., Chapter II., as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of the said office thereto.

CHAPTER II.
Lectureship in French No. 2

  1. There shall be established in the College, in the event of its institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in French, No. 2.
  2. The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The stipend of the Lecturer shall be the same as those provided for in Statute LXVII., Chapter II., section 4. The provisions of Chapter IV. of that statute shall also apply to the office.
  3. The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in French for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the University and for all Diplomas and Certificates of the College, under the direction of the Professor of Romance Languages. He shall in addition examine in French for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for the University.
  4. The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table A of the Additional Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX., Chapter II., as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of the said office thereto.

CHAPTER III.
Appointment of Professors, Lecturers and other Teachers of the College

Chapter I. of Statute XXXIV. is hereby amended as follows;

CHAPTER IV.

The Lectureships established by this Statute shall be tenable for the same term and upon the same conditions and the holders thereof shall be subject to the same duties and obligations as if the said Lectureships had been included in Statutes I. to LXVII. of University College, Cork.

CHAPTER V.

  1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I to LXVII. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute LXVIII. of University College, Cork or Stat. LXVIII. of Univ. Coll. Cork.
  2. This Statute shall come into operation on the tenth day of December, 1963.
