Statute XLIX.

Irish Universities Act, 1908

University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this twentieth day of June, 1950.

Statute XLIX.

Schedule

Statutes I. to XLVIII. of University College, Cork, shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Lectureship in Accounting and Business Administration.

  1. There shall be established in the College in the event of its institution by the Senate of the National University of Ireland a Lectureship in Accounting and Business Administration.

  2. The said Lectureship shall be a part-time non-pensionable office. The stipend of such Lectureship shall be £250 per annum.

  3. In addition to all the other duties imposed on the holder of the Lectureship by Statutes I. to XLVI II. of University College, Cork, the Lecturer shall be obliged to lecture for not less than four hours each week during each College term.

  4. The said Lectureship shall be in substitution for the existing Professorship of Accounting and Business Administration established by Statute. XLIII., Chapter III., of University College, Cork, which Professorship is hereby abolished.

CHAPTER II.
Professorship of Ancient History.

The Professorship of Ancient History established by Statute XLII I., Chapter IV., of University College, Cork, shall be abolished on the occurrence of a vacancy caused by the resignation, retirement or otherwise of the present holder of the office.

CHAPTER III.
Pension Increases

Notwithstanding the provisions of Statute XXXIX., Chapters I and II., and Statute XLIV., Chapter II., Section 4, and. Statute XLVI I., Chapter III., of University College, Cork, the following increased annual pensions of former holders of full-time statutory offices in the College shall be deemed to have become operative as from the First day of October, 1949.

CHAPTER IV.

  1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I to XLVIII. of University College, Cork, and may be cited as Statute XLIX. of University College, Cork, or Stat. XLIX. of Univ. Coll., Cork.

  2. This Statute shall come into operation on the twentieth day of June, 1950.
