Statute XIX.
Irish Universities Act, 1908
University College, Cork
We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under
and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by
the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal
of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in
the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said
College.
Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, the twenty-fifth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and twenty-five.

was affixed:

Statute XIX.
Schedule
Statutes I. to XVIII. of University College, Cork,
shall be read and construed with the additions and
modifications as hereunder set forth.
- Section 3, of Statute XI. of University College,
Cork, in so far as a Professorship of Medical Jurisprudence is thereby created, is hereby revoked to the
intent that the said Professorship shall cease to exist
as from the 1st day of March, 1924.
- There shall be in the College in addition to the
Lectureship mentioned in Statutes I. to XVIII. of University College, Cork, a Lectureship of Medical Jurisprudence (as instituted by Statute of the National
University of Ireland) with the Stipend of Fifty Pounds
per annum.
The said Lectureship shall not be deemed to be a Full
time Lectureship within the meaning of Chapter XV
of Statute I.
- LECTURESHIP IN MODERN IRISH: Chapter
XVI., Section 1 of Statute I., of University College,
Cork, is hereby revoked in so far as it provides a Stipend
of £150 for the Lectureship in Modern Irish. The
Stipend allocated to the said Lectureship shall from the
1st day of August, 1925, be £350, and from and after
the said date the holder of the said Lectureship shall be
deemed a Full-time Lecturer within the meaning of
Statute I. of University College, Cork.
- A bonus may be paid to the Full-time Lecturer in
Modern Irish in accordance with Clause 3 of Statute
XIII. of University College, Cork.
- The office shall be a Pensionable one, in accordance
with Statute XVI. of University College, Cork, provision
having been made therefor under Clause 9 of said Statute.
- Clause 1 of Statute IV. University College, Cork,
in so far as it creates a Lectureship in Electrical Technology, is hereby revoked to the intent that the said
Lectureship shall cease to exist as from the 1st August,
1925.
- There shall be in the College (in the event of such
Lectureships being instituted within the College by the
Senate of the National University of Ireland) in addition
to the Lectureships mentioned in Statutes I. to XVIII.,
Lectureships in Chemistry and in Experimental Physics.
The Stipend of each of the said Lectureships shall be
Three Hundred and Fifty Pounds per annum.
- The said Lectureships shall be full-time Lectureships within the meaning of Chapter 15 of Statute I. of
University College, Cork.
- A bonus may be paid to the said full-time Lecturers
in Chemistry and in Experimental Physics in accordance
with Clause 3 of Statute XIII. of University College,
Cork, and the offices shall be penisionable in accordance
with Statute XVI. of University College, Cork, provision
having been made therefor under Clause 9 of said
Statute XVI.
- The said Full-time Lectureships in Chemistry
and in Experimental Physics are in lieu of the Senior
Assistantships heretofore existing in the College, and the
said Assistantships shall cease to exist as from 1st
August, 1925.
- The above Lectureships in Medical Jurisprudence,
in Modern Irish, in Chemistry and in Experimental
Physics shall be tenable upon the same conditions, and
the holders thereof shall be subject to the same duties
and obligations as if the said Lectureships had
been instituted by Chapter 13 of Statute I.
of University College Cork, as modified by Clause 1 of
Chapter 1 Statute VI. of University College, Cork,
revoking Clause 1 (2) of Statute IV. of University
College, Cork.
- This Statute shall be construed with and ins part
of Statute I. to XVIII. of University College, Cork, and
may be cited as Statute XIX. of University College,
Cork, or Stat. XIX. of Univ., Coll., Cork.
This Statute shall come into operation on the 29th
day of June, One thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty-five.
Present when the Common Seal of University College, Cork,
was affixed.
