Irish Universities Act, 1908

University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this 16th day of February, One thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.

Statute XVIII.

Schedule

Statutes I. to XVII. of University College, Cork, shall be read and construed with the additions and modifications as hereunder set forth.

1. Section 3 of Statute XV. of University College, Cork, is hereby revoked to the intent that the Professorship of Irish Music thereby created shall cease to exist as from the 1st day of October, 1923, and in lieu of the said Section there is hereby substituted the following Section :

There shall be in the College (in the event of such a Lectureship being instituted within the College by he Senate of the National University of Ireland) in addition to the Lectureships mentioned in Statutes I. to XVII. of University College, Cork, so long as the annual sum of One Hundred Pounds is placed at the disposal of the College by the Council of the County Borough of Cork, a Lectureship of Irish Music to be known as "The Cork Corporation Lectureship of Irish Music" with the Stipend of One Hundred Pounds per annum.

   The said Lectureship shall not be deemed to be a Full-Time Lectureship within the meaning of Chapter XV. of Statute I.

3. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I. to XVII. of University College, Cork, and may be cited as Statute XVIII. of University College, Cork, or Stat. XVIII. Univ. Coll., Cork.
4. This Statute shall come into operation on the 18th day of February, One thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.
