Statute 157.

Irish Universities Act, 1908

University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this twenty-second day of January, 1991.

Statute 157.

Schedule

Statutes 1 to 156, of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments herein- after set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Lectureship in Electrical Engineering No. 5

  1. There shall be established in the College, in the event of its institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in Electrical Engineering No. 5.
  2. The said Lectureship shall be in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Microelectronics and shall be a full-time office wit in the meanings of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The stipend of the said Lectureship shall be the same as that provided in Statute 132, Chapter I., section 7(a), as amended.
  3. The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Electrical Engineering under the direction of the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering & Microelectronics, for all degrees, diplomas and certificates of the University and for all diplomas and certificates of the College. The said Lecturer shall also examine in Electrical Engineering for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for the University. He/she shall, in addition, discharge such other duties appropriate to the office as shall be assigned to him/her by the said Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering & Microelectronics.
  4. The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office to which the provisions of Statute 79, as amended, and the Pension Scheme annexed thereto, as amended, shall apply.

CHAPTER II.
Lectureship in Experimental Physics No. 4

  1. There shall be established in the College, in the event of its institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in Experimental Physics No. 4.
  2. The said Lectureship shall be in the Department of Experimental Physics and shall be a full-time office within the meanings of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The stipend of the said Lectureship shall be the same as that provided in Statute 132, Chapter I., section 7(a), as amended.
  3. The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Experimental Physics under the direction of the Head of the Department of Experimental Physics for all degrees, diplomas and certificates of the University and for all diplomas and certificates of the College. The said Lecturer shall also examine in Experimental Physics for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for the University. He/she shall, in addition, discharge such other duties appropriate to the office as shall be assigned to him/her by the said head of the Department of Experimental Physics.
  4. The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office to which the provisions of Statute 79, as amended, and the Pension Scheme annexed thereto, as amended, shall apply.

CHAPTER III.

The Lectureships hereby established shall be tenable for the same term and upon the same conditions and the holders thereof shall be subject to the same duties and obligations as if the said Lectureships had been included in Statutes 1 to 156 of University College, Cork.

CHAPTER IV.

  1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I to 156 of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute 157 of University College, Cork or Stat. 157 of Univ. Coll. Cork.
  2. The Statute will come into operation on the twenty-second day of January, 1991.
