We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.
Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this sixteenth day of January, 1979.
Present when the Common Seal of University College, Cork, was affixed:
Statutes I. to CXIX. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments herein- after set forth.
(a) as from 1 June, 1974, and from the subsequent dates referred to in the First Appendix to this Statute be those set forth in said Appendix:
(b) as from 1 January, 1977, be £14,285;
(c) as from 1 April, 1977, be £14,501;
(d) as from 1 November, 1977, be £14,722;
(e) as from I March, 1973, be £15,900;
(f) as from 1 April, 1978, be £16,073, and
(g) as from 1 March, 1979, be £16,394.
(a) as from 1 June, 1974, and from the subsequent dates referred to in the Second Appendix to this Statute be those set forth in said Appendix;
(b) as from 1 January, 1977, be £12,114;
(c) as from 1 April, 1977, be £12,330;
(d) as from 1 November, 1977, be £12,551;
(e) as from 1 March, 1978, be £13,555;
(f) as from 1 April, 1978, be £13,728, and
(g) as from 1 March, 1979, be £14,003.
"The term 'full-time' referred to in this section shall not be interpreted as precluding the holder of a professorship from receiving a stipend in respect of an appointment as Consultant from the Committee or Authority which may control the hospital associated with the College for the purposes of dental education,
Provided that the prior agreement of the Governing Body
to such appointment and stipend is obtained
and also
Provided that the stipend attaching to the Professorship
shall be abated by the amount of the stipend attaching
to the post as Consultant".
"The term 'full-time' referred to in this section shall not be interpreted as precluding the holder of a Lectureship from receiving a stipend in respect of an appointment as Consultant from the Committee or Authority which may control the hospital associated with the College for the purposes of dental education,
Provided that the prior agreement of the Governing Body
to such appointment and stipend is obtained
and also
Provided that the stipend attaching to the Lectureship
shall be abated by the amount of the stipend attaching
to the post as Consultant".
"Neither shall the term 'full-time' be interpreted as precluding the holder of the Lectureship from receiving a stipend in respect of an appointment as Consultant from the Committee or Authority which may control the hospital associated with the College for the purposes of dental education.
Provided that the prior agreement of the Governing Body
to such appointment and stipend and to an appointment
or stipend attaching to an appointment of the kind
referred to in section 5 of this Chapter, is obtained,
and also
Provided that the stipend attaching to the Lectureship
shall be abated by the total amount of the stipend or
stipends attached to any such appointment or appointments".
"The duties shall include the obligation to discharge such professional duties appropriate to the office as shall be agreed between the College and the Committee or Authority which may control the hospital associated with the College for the purposes of dental education".
As from 1 January, 1977, there shall be payable a pension contribution amounting to five per cent of one-half of the total stipend including any stipend or stipends attaching to any appointments as Consultant or as Director of Special Studies on Dental Caries and Fluorides, receivable by the holders of the full-time professorships and the full-time lectureships set forth in this Chapter:
