Statute CXVI.

Irish Universities Act, 1908

University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this twenty-fourth day of November, 1977.

Statute

Schedule

Statutes I. to CXV. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Dental Research Fund

  1. Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary contained in Statutes I. to CXV. of University College, Cork, the holders of the professorships and lectureships set out in section 2 of this Chapter shall be entitled to examine and/or treat such private patients or classes of private patients as may be approved from time to time by the Governing Body. Any fees payable in respect of such treatments or examinations shall be collected in a manner approved by the Governing Body and the holders of the professorships and lectureships concerned shall have no claim on them. The fees so collected shall be expended solely for the purposes of dental research and such other allied educational purposes as may be approved from time to time by the Governing Body.
  2. The following are the professorships and lectureships referred to in the foregoing section:
    Professorship of Conservative Dentistry
    Professorship of Dental Prosthetics
    Professorship of Dental Surgery
    Professorship of Orthodontics
    Lectureship in Conservative Dentistry
    Lectureship in Dental Surgery
    Lectureship in Preventive Dentistry
  3. With the exception of the provisions of section 1 of this Chapter, the holders of the professorships and lectureships set out in the foregoing section shall be precluded from engaging in private practice or consultations in any form and from retaining any fees which may be received by them in connection with their work.
  4. The provisions of this Chapter shall be deemed to be operational from 1 April, 1977.

CHAPTER II.

  1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I. to CXV. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute CXVI. of University College, Cork or Stat. CXVI. of Univ. Coll. Cork.
  2. This Statute shall come into operation on the twenty-fourth day of November, 1977.
