George Boole Signature

In an effort to raise awareness of the George Boole 200 project we invite UCC staff to edit their Outlook signature to a George Boole themed one. Details on how to do this are provided below.

If you are familiar with creating signatures in Outlook the desired format for a George Boole themed signatures is:

If you do not know how to create a signature please follow the guide below.

Outlook allows you to have a number of signatures created for use in your email messages. Here is one way of setting up a George Boole themed one. Please note it is very easy to swap between a number of signatures once they have been set up. 

  • In Outlook click on the File Tab
  • Click Options – The Outlook Options window will open
  • Click Mail from the list on the left hand side

  • Click on the Signatures… button on the right
  • Click on the New button

Signatures and Stationary

  • In the window that displays type a name for the signature, for example GB200, and then click OK.
  • In the Edit signature box, type the text that you want to include in the signature.
  • To format the text, select the text, and then use the style and formatting buttons to select the options that you want.
    • Recommended Font - Calibri size 9
  • Click Save

The sample above can be copied and pasted in to the Signatures and Stationary window. Be sure to edit the text to reflect your correct details.

Outlook allows you to create a number of different signatures. Defaults can be set as seen above for new messages and replies, however you can have additional signatures that you can choose to use from time to time.

Insert Signature/Replace default signature in an open message

  • Open a new message.
  • On the Message tab, in the Include group, click Signature,
  • In the menu displayed a list of available signatures will be listed, click the name of the signature to be used
    • A new signature can also be created by click the Signatures… menu item. This will return you to the Signatures and Stationary window from earlier. switch between signatures
