Welcome

On June 17th and 18th 2010, University College Cork will host the IFM 2010, the 4th annual meeting organized by Irish fungal biologists. The UCC meeting follows successful meetings held in NUI Maynooth (2007), NUI Galway (2008) and University College Dublin (2009). The aim of the Irish Fungal Meeting is to provide an opportunity for scientists working on any aspect of yeast or fungal biology to meet and exchange ideas and information. This includes postgraduate, post-doctoral and clinical scientists and spans fundamental, applied and medical mycology. This year, there is a specific focus on encouraging dialogue between clinical and basic researchers and the meeting programme will reflect this. Abstracts and offered papers from researchers working on any aspect of yeast or fungal research are welcome.

Timing, Format and Venue

The meeting will run from the morning of Thursday June 17th to lunchtime on Friday June 18th.  There will be pre-conference mixer on Wednesday 16th and an evening event on Thursday June 17th (details to follow).  The symposium (lectures and poster session) will take place in the Brookfield Health Sciences Complex at UCC. This is located 10 minutes walk from the main campus Map.
