The Irish food composition database had been compiled by researchers at The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences, University College Cork. The database contains composition data for approximately 1000 foods, including manufactured products, composite dishes and nutritional supplements. Values for 41 nutrient factors are described, including 12 vitamins and 12 minerals. This site provides access to the latest version of the Irish food composition database.
The Irish food composition database is supported by funding made available by the Irish Government under the National Development Plan 2007-2013 through the Food Institutional Research Measure of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in conjunction with EuroFIR through the European Commission 6th Framework Programme.
