HRB Centre for Health and Diet Research

There are five active research Clusters at the centre, each involving Principal Investigators from University College Cork (UCC), University College Dublin (UCD) and the Institute for Public Health (IPH).

Cluster 1 ‘Population Health Modelling ’: Principal Investigators are  Kevin Balanda (IPH) and Ivan Perry (UCC).

Cluster 2 ‘Diet, Obesity and Health in Pregnancy and Childhood’: Principal Investigators are Cecily Kelleher and Fionnuala McAuliffe at UCD.

Cluster 3 ‘Diet Obesity and Health in Adults’: Principal Investigators are Ivan Perry and Catherine Phillips at UCC, with Co-Principal Investigators Kevin Cashman (UCC) and Albert Flynn (UCC).

Cluster 4 ‘Management of Morbid Obesity’: Principal Investigators are Cecily Kelleher (UCD) and Donal O’Shea (St Vincent’s University Hospital , St Columcilles Hospital, and UCD).

Cluster 5 ‘Consumer Cognitive Response to Food’: Principal Investigators are Mary McCarthy (UCC) and Patrick Wall (UCD).
