Welcome to the Web support for Performance Management

The management of performance remains a focus for UCC’s internal and external stakeholders.  Following extensive internal consultation and external verification, the current Performance and Development Review System (PDRS) was implemented during the academic year 2005 to allow structured discussion around performance and development and to agree future performance objectives at an individual level.  Although PDRS is an important tool to assist in the management of performance, it is not a replacement for the on-going management of performance which should be delivered through regular constructive feedback relating to work performance.

Since its early conceptualisation, the principles of development, collegiality and academic freedom have been central to our process. Following the last few cycles of reviews, reviewers and reviewees have been requiring an emphasis on the development of supports available to them within this process.  In response to this, a key focus over the last year has been on supporting an enhanced culture of performance management and establishing an appropriate infrastructure to address the full spectrum of staff performance i.e. underperformance to recognition for outstanding performance. This evolution is an on-going process.

On these Performance Management web pages you will find information relating to the PDRS system, training activity, online training material and frequently asked questions.  If you have a query regarding any aspect of performance management, you can make contact with us via the 'Contact Us' box or by contacting Employee and Organisation Development (EODS), Department of Human Resources and Organisation Development.
