Profile
I am Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and have been in Cork for about 12 years, having previously been a faculty member at the University of Sheffield. My research is conducted mainly in a research institute, which can provide competitive elements on ones time. My research is often collaborative and I generally believe that working with others can open additional opportunities for funding and impact. I have also developed new Masters level courses, and worked on the development of good practices systems for Postgraduate research, and currently I have admin resposibiltes as a "Head of Discipline" within my School
Types of Mentoring Offered: 1:1 mentoring short or long term relationship, Speed Mentoring - one meeting to address specific mentee need

Approach as a Mentor: My mentoring style is generally to listen, to understand the context of the issues that are relevant and then to try to have an open back and forth discussion as to what might work to address them
