Introduction

Greetings, and welcome to the home page of the UCC Go Club.

Go (weiqi in China, baduk in Korea) originated in China 4000 years ago; since then, thanks to its elegance and inherent aesthetic appeal, very little has changed about the game.  Played on the intersecting lines of a 19 x 19 grid with black and white stones, with the object being to control more territory on the board than your opponent, the very simple ruleset gives rise to an almost unimaginable range of subtle complexities.
