Willkommen to the German Society Website

GERMAN SOC ist wunderbar! Warum? The antiquated assumption that the German Soc has its roots steeped in vats of Weizenbier has yet to be proven by a court of law. So in the meantime we enjoy a sociable mass of beer or 2 (or whatever you think you can handle pilgrim), while discussing the EU and Lederhosen-you know yourself!!

On occasion we like to indulge in a spot of theatre! Goethe’s Faust for example! Quite the thundering success I might add! We sometimes converse auf Deutsch –Stammtisch- in a clever attempt to pass those exam things, which the nice people in the shadows of UCC say we must do if we are to remain in the college lifestyle we are accustomed to. Now that’ll teach us!!

Rumour has it that German soc members enjoy free dinners, fame and glory on the Granary stage, and an all expenses paid cultural-trip to Germany!! (true my friend) We always welcome new members-Irish(whether studying German or ancient Armaic), German or otherwise!
