UCC Open Day 2011 - Students Greatly Interested in Food and Nutritional Sciences
14.10.2011

UCCs Open Day was held on Saturday 8th October 2011. It was open to all Leaving Cert, Fifth Year and TY students, their parents and teachers, as well as those thinking of applying as a Mature Student.

Pictured are member of staff and students of the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences who answered the many queries from interested prospective students at their stand on the day. Organised talks by staff and tours of the Processing Facilites in the School were scheduled for the day providing a comprehensive view of life as a Food Science or Nutritional Science student.

By far, the best way to get a feel for what life in UCC is about is to come and visit campus for yourself on an Open Day... walk around, talk to staff and current students, and attend talks on subject areas that you are interested in. Open Days provides prospective students, parents and teachers the opportunity to visit stands representing each programme on offer. Student clubs and societies arrange a variety of demonstrations and activities, and the campus really does brim with a fantastic atmosphere. The next Open Day will be the 'Schools to Campus' day on Friday 27th April 2012. This Open Day is aimed specifically at TY and 5th Year students and will provide a broad overview of all UCC programmes to students who attend as registered school groups - so if you want to come along to this day, ask your Guidance Counsellor to book you in on time!!
