 Prof. Ellis and Gladwin are a collaborative team and founders of the Systems Beings Lab and the Collaborative Transdisciplinary PhD Cohort on Climate Action at the University of British Columbia. They complement their diverse disciplinary backgrounds within the nexus of climate and sustainability education, blending socio-cultural with STEM and technical approaches, to provide holistic and transdisciplinary perspectives. Working with global partners, they also consult on education design.

Educational Scientist. Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University, The Netherlands

Gemma researches transdisciplinarity and educational innovation to drive just sustainability transitions. She is a founding member of the Global Alliance for Inter- and Transdisciplinarity (ITD Alliance) and a member of its Working Group “Integration Experts and Expertise”. She is a fellow of the tdAcademy (2023).
