Three UCC engineering students have been selected for the 2011 University of California international exchange programme with UCC. Third-year energy engineering student Deirdre Doody will spend her junior year studying at the mechanical engineering department of UC Berkeley, EEE third-year student David McCarthy has been accepted to the UC Santa Barbara electrical engineering programme to complete his junior year of studies at the Santa Barbara campus, and third-year EEE student Nathen Ellis is studying Electrical Engineering in UC San Diego for the full academic year.
UCC EEE department has exchange programmes with a number of US colleges which facilitates year-long exchanges typically in the third year of study. David, Nathan and Deirdre will return to UCC in 2012 to complete their Bachelor of Engineering degrees in UCC.
