Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Computer Science and are eager to specialise with advanced coursework in electrical and mechanical engineering in a short duration (one to 2 years) via a Masters Degree?

Are you interested in a PhD degree but are not sure if the degree or time commitment is worth it, but still want to experience a post-graduate level study?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then a Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) or Mechanical Engineering is for you.
Admissions to EEE postgraduate Masters level is based on completion of a Bachelors degree in engineering or science at an international standard. Interested Masters students should contact Department administrator expressing interest in admissions. Applicants are also encouraged to submit Graduate Record Exam (GRE) general and subject (Maths, Physics) exam results.

Masters in Mechanical Engineering - Manufacturing, Process, and Automation Systems

Please note that this programme is offered on a full-time basis only.
EU Fees: This programme receives funding from the Government under a major initiative to meet IT skills needs identified by the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs, therefore EU Students admitted to this programme in 2011/2012 will pay a reduced annual tuition fee of €2,750.
Non-EU Fees: €9,960 for 2011/2012. Fees for 2012/2013 will be set in March 2012.

Entry Requirements: candidates must have achieved a Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 8 or equivalent) with a minimum grade 2H2 in a related engineering discipline that should have covered mechanical engineering fundamentals such as mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and materials. English Language Requirements: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL equivalent.

Masters in Microelectronic Design

EU Fees: This programme receives funding from the Irish Government under a major initiative to meet IT skills needs identified by the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs, therefore EU Students admitted to this programme in 2011/2012 will pay a reduced annual tuition fee of €2,750. If taking the programme part-time a fee of €1700 is payable and a similar fee will be payable in 2012/2013.
Non-EU Fees: €11,000 for 2010-2011. Please note that non-EU applicants are not eligible to study part-time programmes.

The first round EU application closing date was 1st June, 2011 for EU applicants. Late EU applications can be made online at www.pac.ie/ucc until the 1st September, 2011. Please note that late applications will be considered if the programme has not been filled in the first round offers, or by the first round waiting list who meet the selection criteria requirements. Offers will then be made to late applications only if places are still available on the programme and if candidates meet the selection criteria requirements.

Postgraduate Diploma in Microelectronic Design
The admissions process for the Postgraduate Diploma in Microelectronic Design is the same as for the Masters degree in Microelectronic Design. The key difference is that the admissions requirements are less competitive allowing a varying range of student abilities to avail of this education opportunity in microelectronic design studies.
Entry Requirements: A BE (Hons) (Electronic), BE (Hons) (Electrical) or BE (Hons) (Microelectronic) Degree (or equivalent Engineering qualification), with a minimum grade of Pass. Decisions on eligibility will be taken by the Head of the School of Engineering, subject to the approval of the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science.
Masters in Sustainable Energy (full-time)

Duration: One year (12 months) full-time only
EU Fees: The 1 year full-time EU fee for this programme in 2011/2012 is €6,000.00
Non-EU Fees: €14,500 for 2010-2011

Entry Requirements: In order to be permitted to proceed to the MEngSc Degree in Sustainable Energy, a candidate must have obtained honours at the BE or BEng Degree Examination at 2H2 or USA GPA of 3.0. However, candidates with equivalent academic qualifications and suitable experience may be accepted, subject to the approval of Faculty. In all cases, the course of study for each candidate must be approved by the Programme Coordinator and by Faculty. English Language Requirements: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL equivalent.
