Student Supports & Policies

School Ethos

In the School of Education, personalised learning and well-being are at the centre of our practice. We pride ourselves on our supportive, collegial and learner-centred approach that underpins everything we do to ensure that all members of our community are able to thrive and reach their potential regardless of their personal or professional circumstances.

Internal Student Supports

All academic, administrative and support staff in the School of Education at UCC are committed to personalised learning and student well-being. We understand the importance of offering all learners individualised, practical support during their time with us and invite you to tell us what you need.

UCC Policies

The following are important policies and procedures with which students should be familiar:

A comprehensive list of UCC policies is available on the Academic Affairs and Governance website.

External Student Supports

UCC offers a very wide range of academic, personal and professional supports to students across all undergraduate and graduate courses. Based on the ‘Acorn to Mighty Oak’ metaphor, a students’ experience at UCC is a journey and all supports available to students are designed to enrichen and drive that experience.

The support tree depicts the many services and supports available. Click on the individual services and supports below for more information. If you’re unsure of where to begin, then please ask us in the School of Education.
