To mark the intake of a new group of doctoral researchers into the Cohort PhD in Education (Structured), the School of Education, UCC invites you to a Public Seminar this coming Friday 23rd September at 730-845pm in Boole 1 on the theme of
Religion and Schooling in Ireland: Perspectives and Trends

The purpose of the invited public seminar is to provide a forum for discussion of key issues in the relationship between religions and schooling (both primary and post-primary) in Ireland.
The invited speakers will present a range of perspectives on the topic and address the implications for policy and research. Among the topics that are likely to be addressed are the following:
Ø The role of religion and religious bodies in existing and emerging models of school patronage
Ø Dilemmas in addressing religion in schools within an increasingly diverse society
Ø Teaching of religion within faith traditions in school and/or teaching about religions
Ø Students’ experiences of religion in schooling
