This programme focuses how economic decision-making can be applied to the health care sector.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Economics Practice is aimed at health sector practitioners and professionals, and graduates in health-related disciplines, as well as those who may have already studied economics at undergraduate level. It has the option of an add-on MA in Health Economics Practice. The programme aims to meet the demand for training in health economics, in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
This taught programme is available on a full-time or part-time basis.
- Full-time (all the modules in the programme over 1 academic year: Sept to May)
- Part-time (modules can be taken over a maximum of 3 years)
Students who successfully complete the programme and achieve a required minimum standard will have the option of transferring their registration to the MA Health Economics Practice. This programme involves a six-month work placement, and a report thereon.
A Bridging Programme will be provided for applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma who have not previously studied economics. This programme will run during the summer.
