Welcome
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Economics website. The Department of Economics, University College Cork had its origin in the Department of Jurisprudence and Political Economy which was instituted on the foundation of the College in 1845. Today, the Department of Economics is one of the largest in the University and is a vibrant and friendly working environment which is highly supportive of student education and career development.
This website offers a wide variety of information about our teaching and research activities. It places a particular emphasis on the many undergraduate, postgraduate and Continuing, Professional and Executive Development programmes which we offer, the achievements of our students and staff members that comprise the Department of Economics. We encourage you to learn more about us and the many programmes of study we offer.
