Screening and Assessment Summer Clinics 2016

 

The Disability Support Service, UCC is offering interested clients the opportunity to avail of this new screening programme for adults (17 years +) wishing to be screened for dyslexia and/or dyspraxia (DCD). The clinics also will give clients the opportunity to find out more about their own individual learning style. 

The Screening and Assessment Clinics will run from 20th June 2016 - 24th June 2016 and again from 25 July 2016 - 29 July 2016.

Dyslexia Screening

Dyslexia screening will consist of a 2 hour (approx) appointment where an assessor will carry out some screening tools with you. After the appointment a report will be written up and results shared with you outlining any idicators of dyslexia and providing a learning style evaluation. You may or may not decide to seek a private educational psychologist assessment based on the results. 

The cost of the screening is €50

 

Dyspraxia (DCD) Screening and Assessment

Dyspraxia screening will consist of a 2 hour (approx) appointment where an occupational therapist will carry out some screening tools with you. After the appointment you will be informed if you need to seek further evaulation with the occupational therapist. You will also receive a learning style evaluation. If you do decide to seek further evaluation a new appointment will be set for you. 

The cost of the screening is €50

The cost of the full assessment and evaluaiton is €300 (the €50 will be deducted from this cost if you proceed)

 

The screening clinics are open to non-UCC students/adults.
