SOI Support Programme

The DSS has an advisor specifically to support students who are living with a significant ongoing illness.

Examples of SOI: Epilepsy, Cystic Fibrosis, Digestive disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Any student who falls into the SOI category may make an appointment with the DSS advisor to discuss supports. At the first visit an assessment of needs will be done. Relevant supports are discussed and arrangements are made to put these supports in place

The objective of the support programme is to assist students with SOI to overcome the added challenges that they face in the learning environment.

Lisa Egan is the person assigned to support students with SOI and is available to meet with both students who are new to UCC and those who are already progressing in their particular programmes.
