Careers Support Programme
The Careers Advisor for Students with Disabilities within University College Cork is a job sharing role held by Geraldine Brannigan and Barbara MacCarthy who work from the Disability Support Service (DSS), South Lodge, Main Campus, University College Cork (Opposite the student car park on College Road)
Individual sessions are 30 minutes and the Careers Support Programme (CSP) at the DSS is available to:
- Prospective Students
- Current Undergraduates who are registered with the Disability Support Service
- Postgraduates who are registered with the Disability Support Service
- Recent graduates of UCC of up to ONE YEAR
The objective of the CSP is to support and empower students with disabilities in the transition from second level to third level and from university level to employment. We advise and assist students in researching their choice of degree programme and their career opportunities. As a student with a disability, illness or specific learning difficulty (SpLD) there may be concerns for you when preparing to make choices. It is both important and essential to meet with the careers advisor for students with disabilities when making such choices.
For guidance and assistance regarding the transition from second level to third level for pre-entry/prospective students including CAO queries please contact Geraldine Brannigan g.brannigan@ucc.ie / 021 4903768
Geraldine’s hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (08.30 – 16.00)
For guidance and assistance regarding current undergraduates seeking summer employment or work placement please contact Barbara MacCarthy bmaccarthy@ucc.ie / 021 4903768
