Biography
Andrew Byrne is currently a post-doctoral researcher with the Coding & Cryptography research group in UCC. Having received a B.E. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from NUI, Galway in 2004, he completed a M.Eng.Sc. Masters degree in Microelectronic Engineering in UCC. He received his PhD from UCC in 2010 investigating FPGA architectures for Elliptic Curve and pairing based cryptography. In 2009, he was a visiting researcher in the Mathematical & Geospatial Sciences department in RMIT, Melbourne. His research interests include cryptography, hardware implementations, reconfigurable architectures and side-channel attacks.
