Banks and professional services firms now run spring weeks, insight programmes and open days specifically for first year undergraduates. These are a great way to find out about a firm, their roles and the sector by attending employer offices for presentations, seminars, shadowing, coaching and work experience. They range from half a day to two full weeks. Companies often use these schemes as a feeder for their internship programmes (which are normally Penultimate Year programmes)
All the schemes below are open to first years. Some are also open to second years and masters students.
A&L Goodbody - Law Start Training Days (Dublin) -The programme is open to first and second year undergraduate students only.
