CACSSS doctoral students are invited to submit a €250 prize-winning essay before 29 May 2017.

The Graduate School of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences at UCC invites submissions for the PhD Essay Prize from doctoral students registered in a PhD programme in the College. The winning essay will be published in Aigne, the peer-reviewed online postgraduate journal of CACSSS and the winner will receive €250 in prize money.

Submissions should be 6,000-7,000 words long and can consist of an extract from the PhD student's thesis (adapted so that it works as a separate piece) or an independent paper. Essays should not have already been submitted elsewhere for publication. Submissions must follow the Aigne house style, as laid out on the journal's web site:

The CACSSS Graduate Studies Executive will review all submissions and will award the prize, should an essay of sufficient calibre be deemed worthy of the award.
