Announcement - CACSSS PhD Essay Prize

The Graduate School of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, UCC, invites submissions for the PhD Essay Prize from doctoral students registered in a PhD programme in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences.  Essays are to be no longer that 6,000 - 7,000 words and can consist of an extract fromthe PhD student's thesis (adapted so that it works as a separate piece) or an independent paper.  Essays should not have already been submitted for publication.  The essay which receives the prize will be published in the CACSSS online, peer-reviewed postgraduate journal Aigne (see http://publish.ucc.ie/aigne/home).

Submissions must follow the Aigne house style, as laid out on the journal's web site:

The CACSSS Graduate Studies Committee will review all submissions and will reward the prize (to the value of €500), should an essay of sufficient calibre be deemed worthy of the award.  In order to be considered, essays must adhere to the Aigne style format, as outlined in the journal's website.

Deadline: Wednesday, 28 November 2012
