BSc BIS Announce Taster Day!

BSc BIS Announce Taster Day!

  • 23 Feb 2016

A "taster day" for Leaving Cert students has been announced by the BSc Business Information Systems degree to take place in UCC on Tuesday 10th May from 9.30am-1pm.  Places are limited and early booking is advisable.  To reserve a place at this event please contact Anne Wallace (a.wallace@ucc.ie).  The schedule for the day is currently being finalised but promises to be a very interesting programme and suited to Leaving Certs who are, as yet, unsure of the CAO options.

Business Information Systems (BIS) is a four-year degree programme that specialises in key business and technology skills, providing students with an excellent springboard for a successful career within IS or business related sectors. BIS students study an interesting mix of business subjects such as Economics, Accounting, Management and Marketing. IT related subjects are also on offer covering topics like programming, web development, networking, systems analysis and database development. In third year, BIS students have the opportunity to work in industry for six months. The BIS Placement Programme allows students to take what they have learnt in lectures and practical sessions and apply it in an organisation. This paid placement means that BIS students have practical business experience before they complete their degree.
