How to get to UCC

University College Cork is located in the western part of Cork City, at approx 1 km distance from the city centre. The main parts of UCC’s Campus are along Western Road and College Road.

Being at an inner city location, car parking facilities at UCC are limited, and so are road capacities for access to UCC, especially during rush hours. So when coming to UCC, please also consider the use of Public Transport.

Access by Coach:

Cork Bus Station is located at Parnell Place in the eastern part of the city centre. The bus station is served by all Bus Eireann local and intercity services. For getting to UCC, take city buses No 5 (marked "Rossa Avenue") or No 8 (marked "Bishopstown"), starting at the bus station or at nearby St Patrick Street (200m distance).

There are further coach services to Dublin (operated by Aircoach) and to Limerick / Galway (operated by CityLink), starting from Patrick’s Quay (at the opposite bank of River Lee’s North Channel).

A walk to UCC would take about 20-30 mins (click here to see Maps).

By Train:

Train services by Iarnrod Eirannn (Irish Rail) are calling at Kent Train Station, north east of the city centre. For getting to UCC, take city bus No 5 (marked "Rossa Avenue").

Bus connections to/from the airport are provided by Bus Eireann (Route No 226 to Cork Bus Station) and SkyLink (to various locations in central Cork, including Western Road / UCC).

A Taxi trip to UCC will take approx. 10-20 minutes (depending on traffic) and cost about 10-15 €.

In the arrivals hall there are desks of all major car rental companies.

By Car:
