The Science Foundation of Ireland has funded a summer research programme in University College Cork to encourage undergraduate students in the biological sciences to consider following a course of PhD study. Our summer research programme is open to undergraduates of all nationalities, who have not yet entered their final year of studies. Our programme of research focuses on many different aspects of 'Microbe-Host Interactions' between microbes and their hosts through analyses of microbial pathogenesis and commensalism as well as the host response to microbial colonisation
